Copyright and the DMCA

Lecquiz respects copyright. We respond to notices of claimed infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512) and close the accounts of repeat infringers.

Designated agent

A designated agent has not been set up yet. Until then, please use the notice form below.

Report infringement

If you own a copyright and believe material on Lecquiz infringes it, send us a notice using the notice form, or by email or post to the agent above. A valid notice includes:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature, as the owner or someone authorized to act for the owner.
  2. A description of the copyrighted work you say was infringed.
  3. A description of the material and where it is on Lecquiz, such as a link like /p/quiz-name-abc123 or a share code.
  4. Your name, address, phone number and email.
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the owner, its agent, or the law.
  6. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act for the owner.

Please be accurate. Anyone who knowingly misrepresents that material is infringing may be liable for damages, including costs and attorneys' fees (17 U.S.C. § 512(f)).

When we receive a valid notice we disable access to the material, including quizzes, cards and copies made from the same source, and tell the user who added it. A copy of your notice, including your contact details, is shared with them.

If your content was removed

We email you and show a notice where the content was. If you believe it was removed by mistake, or that you have the right to use it, you can send a counter-notice from that page. It must include your contact details, a signature, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed because of a mistake or misidentification, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your address and to accept service from the person who filed the notice.

We forward your counter-notice to the person who filed the notice. Unless they tell us within 10 business days that they have filed a court action, we restore the material.

Repeat-infringer policy

If a user's account receives 3 valid copyright notices within 12 months, we close the account, turn off its public quizzes and share codes, and do not allow it to be reopened except at our discretion. A notice stops counting if it is withdrawn or if the user's counter-notice succeeds. We apply this policy to everyone.
